It is acknowledged that the ideal position for a wind turbine is to be sited in ‘clear’ wind. The ground level pole mounted turbine is a well established solution for rural and exposed sites, but this is not practical for the enclosed turbulent environment of urban areas. To provide the best solution the turbine must be lifted above the surrounding clutter, and the most effective way to achieve this is to install it on the roof of a building or other structure (subject to it being capable of taking the forces imposed on it).
Siting of turbines at high level requires the installation of specialised support structures. Rooftop turbines are the specialist construction company dedicated to providing these solutions having gained the expertise from many years’ experience of installing masts and towers at high level.
